Jessie Reyez might make fierce, vocal-led tracks like “Figures” and “Shutter Island,” but she can also create a banger as well. That’s the case with “Blue Ribbon,” a Tim Suby-produced song from her debut Kiddo EP, which has an official video out this week.
Directed by Philip Harris, the new clip shows life for the Toronto artist on the road, such as meeting fans, taking shots backstage and jumping into the ocean. Life has changed very fast for Reyez, and this is just a snapshot of it all. The song itself sounds like something M.I.A. would come up with.
